Program Description
UCSF IRACDA Scholars Program combines a traditional mentored postdoctoral research experience with an opportunity to hone additional academic skills through career development activities that strengthen scholars scientific writing, grant writing, and career coaching. The Program features a 4-year postdoctoral career development plan and funds postdoctoral salary and benefits for up to 3 years. This NIH K12 funded Program is designed to facilitate our postdoctoral scholars’ transition to pursue independent research and teaching careers in academia.

Successful applicant personal statements generally address an applicants’ background and involvement with their scientific community as well as briefly addressing postdoctoral research goals and an explanation about why UCSF IRACDA is an important next step for the applicant's career.
Eligibility
- US citizen or permanent resident.
- Committed to pursuing an academic career in biomedical research with a demonstrated record.
- Committed to outreach and increasing diversity in academia.
- Doctoral degree received prior to starting the program, and ready to be appointed. Ideal candidates will have less than 1 year of postdoctoral experience at time of appointment to program. Arrange a conversation with [email protected] if you would like to discuss your unique situation.
